Lezzet Biscuit Company has been established in 1962 in downtown of the city of Izmir, producing Petit Beurre and Finger type biscuits.
When it was first set, there was lack of technology and resources. But with aid of great demand, it developed and made new investments. Some time later, the mere workshop was moved to Çamdibi in 1970s and became a bigger factory. This new place had an area of 1500 square meters with a closed part of 600 square meters .
By moving to the new building, new investments and researches were made to get developed in the technology and management. First development in this case was buying new continuous steel band ovens instead of pot based ovens. The buying of punching dough processing machines instead of rotative dough processing machines is another result of this research. Later on, automatic creaming and automatic wafer production machines were bought and daily production capacity reached up to 10 thousand tons per day.
Then, as a result of increasing demands, the management had to enlarge its distribution fleet by buying new vehicles and tools.
In the year of 1976, Company became a corporation and the daily production amount was incremented to 15 tons in an area of 3000 square meters.
In 1980s, the company started working on export. So, for the beginning, some contacts were made with close countries and small amounts of export were made.
About the internal markets, the company sold products over the Aegean region for the first time. It began serving for Istanbul , Blacksea Region and Middle Anatolia. In the first half of 80s, biscuits were now produced in packages.
After the first half of 80s, production place became insufficient, so the management started to search for the possibility of having a facility in a newly establishing industrial zone in Kemalpaºa Izmir. When it was 90s, daily production capacity became 50 tones.
Between 90s and 2000s, company has achieved new approaches in production, marketing, technology and export. As a result of this new regional offices were established in ©stanbul, Adana , Erzurum , Samsun , Aegean Region and Thrace Region. Also half of production was sold to foreign countries like the Balkans.
After 2000, research and development was considered first, so the daily production capacity reached up to 130 tones and the number of total products of company were increased to 100. Then the company started to produce new brands both for internal and for external markets. Moreover, the number of countries we make export has grown to 25.
Since its start of the business, Lezzet's aim has always been to catch technology, improvements and stable growth. Its primary concern is producing high quality products for both Turkish and foreign demanders since 1962, and it is strong in its way to reaching its goals for years of 2010s.
