 (1) 한·쿠바 경제협력위원회 부위원장인 신명진 회장은 지난 2016년 11월 쿠바에서 개최된 제 1차 한·쿠바 경제협력위원회 참석에 이어 서울에서 개최된 제 2차 경제협력위원회 쿠바사절단을 환영하기 위하여 만찬을 주최하였다. 이날 만찬에는 대외무역부 아태국장을 비롯하여 쿠바측 경협위원장, 쿠바상공회의소 아시아 담당관, 쿠바대외은행 총괄국장 등이 참석하여 한국과 쿠바의 경제통상교류와 상호 이해를 넓히기 위한 의견을 주고받았다.

 (2) 쿠바는 북미와 남미 대륙 사이에 위치한 전략적 요충지로 물류 허브로서의 성장 가능성이 큰 국가이며, 세계적 수준의 의료바이오 기술과 니켈, 코발트 등 풍부한 광물자원을 보유하고 있어 향후 새로운 유망시장으로 각광받고 있다. 협회장은 한·쿠바 경제협력위원회 부위원장으로서 양국 간의 경제교류 활성화를 위하여 민간차원에서의 경제적 연계성을 강화하고 한단계 더 발전해 나갈 수 있도록 소통을 통한 공감대 형성과 상호 이해의 중요성을 강조하였다. 또한 쿠바의 한국 진출을 지원하여 통상협력기반을 조성할 것을 약속하였다.

Korea·Cuba Economic Cooperation Committee Banquet

  Chairman Shin, Myoung-jin (Vice-chairman of the Korea-Cuba economic cooperation committee) held a banquet welcoming the 2^nd economic cooperation committee with Cuba  at the Four Points by Sheraton on May 18^th. He exchanged opinions with Vilma Sanchez Sempe, the director general of the Asia-Pacific affairs bureau at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment , and Irene Garcia Pico, the economic cooperation chairwoman of Cuba, on plans to vitalize economic exchanges between two countries. Meanwhile, Chairman Shin, Myoung-jin participated the 1^st Korea-Cuba economic cooperation committee held in Cuba in November 2016.
