(1) 수입협회장은 미국 콜로라도州 국제통상부 장관 사절단의 방한을 맞는 자리에서 주한 미국대사관邸를 방문하여 새로이 논의되고 있는 한·미 자유무역협정(한·미 FTA)과 관련하여 의견을 나누었다. 협회의 인기사업인 수입상품 전시회를 알리면서 콜로라도 주정부 및 현지기업의 참여를 위한 지원방안도 제시하고 전시회 참여를 독려하였다.
(2) 또한 이 자리에서 오랜시간 공백기간을 두고 지난 7월 신임장을 제정한 주한 미국대사(Amb. Harry Harris Jr.)와 한국의 對美 무역흑자 구조개선을 위한 수입사절단 사업일정을 논의하였다. 성장국면의 미국경제와 함께 하기 위한 한국·미국 특별무역위원회 구성을 제안하면서 구체사안을 추가 논의하기로 하였다.
Meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to South Korea and Executive Director of the OEDIT of Colorado
Chairman Myoung-Jin Shin attended networking reception for the delegates of the Office of Economic Development & International Trade of the State of Colorado at the U.S. Embassy to the Republic of Korea on Oct. 25, to discuss issues on the KOR-U.S. FTA. Chairman Shin met with Ambassador Harry Harris of America to discuss matters on the special committee for KOR-U.S. trade and dispatch of KOIMA’s Import Delegation to the country.
