강경화 외교부 장관 면담
신명진 회장은 7월16일 외교부 장관 공관에서 열린 외교부장관 주최 주한명예영사단 초청 리셉션에 참석해 강경화 장관과 세계 각국과의 양자관계 발전에 대한 의견을 나눴다. 특히 강 장관은 KOIMA가 민간외교의 첨병으로서 그 역할을 강화해 나갈 것을 희망하고, 정부지원 확대를 검토하겠다고 밝혔다. 한편 신명진 회장은 주한 미크로네시아 선임총영사로도 활발히 활동하고 있다.
Meeting with the Foreign Minister, Gyeong-hwa Kang
KOIMA Chairman Myoung-jin Shin participated in a reception inviting the Corps of Honorary Consuls in Korea, hosted by the Foreign Minister in her residence on July 16. The chairman exchanged opinions with the Foreign Minister about the development of bilateral relations with various countries around the world. In particular, Kang said that she hoped that KOIMA would reinforce its role as an advance guard of nongovernmental diplomacy and added that she would review the expansion of governmental support. On the other hand, Chairman Shin is working actively as an honorary consul-general of Micronesia to Korea.
