대통령 미국 VIP 순방 동행
지난 6월 28일 신명진 수입협회장은대한민국 19대 문재인 대통령의 미국 트럼프대통령 공식방문일정에 경제인단의 일원으로 동참하여미국 워싱톤 DC에서 열린 경제인 간담회 및 대통령주재 만찬에 참석하였으며,한국정부와 미국 기업인대표에게 수입협회 역할을 알리는 데 주력하였다.
금번 문재인 대통령의 미국방문 경제인단에는삼성전자, 현대자동차, SK, LG, GS, 한화, 두산그룹, 한진그룹, CJ, LS, 등의 대기업 10개 사와중견‧중소기업 37개사 및 미국계 한국기업(한국GM, 한국3M) 2개 사,공기업2개사 등총 52개사로 구성되었으며, 수입협회는 본 경제인단과 바쁜 일정을 함께 하였다.
양국가 모두 새정부가 출범한 시점에서 한국정상의 방미일정은 국제정치, 외교뿐만이 아닌 대한민국 국민경제에 직접적인 영향이 주는 한미통상 현안 등을 망라하는 새시대의 자주적 통상외교의롤모델을 세우기 위한 수입협회장의 역할에 그 의미가있었다.
협회장은 미국시장 투자진출 세미나 및 미국의 조달시장 관련 설명회를 위한 미국 대표기업인과의 라운드 테이블 포럼에 참석하여 현지 기업인과의 교류시간을 가졌으며 정상외교에 참석한 한국정부 인사 및한국기업인 대표와 함께 한미통상 활성화를 위한 수입무역의 역할을 알리는 시간을 가졌다.
Chairman Shin Myoung-Jin Accompanies President Moon Jae-in on a Presidential Visit to the USA
On June 28, KOIMA Chairman Shin Myoung-jin accompanied Korean President Moon Jae-in on an official visit to the United States, as a member of the economic delegation. Chairman Shin focused on publicizing KOIMA by participating in a conference with businesspersons and a banquet hosted by the President. The Presidential economic delegation included representatives of 52 companies ─ ten large group companies such as Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, SK, LG, GS, Hanwha, Doosan, Hanjin, CJ and LS; 37 SMEs; and two Korea-based American companies (GM Korea and 3M Korea); and two state-run corporations. KOIMA also joined President’s busy schedule in Washington D.C as a member of Presidential delegation.Chairman Shin attended the U.S. Investment Seminar and the Roundtable Forum and had time to network with local entrepreneurs. He also discussed ways to promote Korea-U.S. trade with Korean government officials, emphasizing KOIMA’s roles in the Korea’s trade market.
