우루과이 외교부장관은 양국간 수교 52주년을 기념하여 한국을 방문하는 자리에서 수입협회 회장을 초청하여 특별간담회 시간을 가졌다. 한국과 우루과이는 무역교역량은 미미하지만 꾸준한 증가추세로 상호보완적인 교역형태를 보이고 있어 통상차원의 윈윈전략을 제안하며 수입협회의 지원을 요청했다.
이 자리에서 신명진 회장은 보호무역주의 시대로의 접근에 즈음하여 한국과 우루과이는 상호교역 증가를 위한 개방주의 정책을 개진하여 부의 창출을 위한 많은 기회를 찾기로 하고, 해외 수출기업을 위한 수입상품전시회 적극적인 참여와 함께 KOIMA 외국인 회원제 활용으로 우루과이 수출기업의 실질적인 한국시장 접근전략 구사를 추천하였다.
Special meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay in commemoration of his visit to Korea
Chairman Myoung-jin Shin was invited to a special meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay in commemoration of his visit to Korea held at Lotte Hotel on November 14, and met with Minister Rodolfo Nin Novoa and H.E. Luis Fernando Iribarne, Ambassador of Uruguay to Korea. At the meeting, Chairman Shin, recommended recommending the way for Uruguayan exporters to approach the Korean market by using the foreign membership system of KOIMA and also discussing ways for expanding trade between the two countries.
