2005 APEC Informatization Forum for Small and Medium Enterprises
Invitation
As global competition continues to intensify with the advance in the
information & communication technology and the spread of the Internet,
the informatization of small and medium enterprises(SMEs) is gaining
greater attention from APEC member economies as a growth strategy.
The Korea Information Management Institute for Small and Medium
Enterprises(KIMI) has successfully conducted the APEC SME Informatization
Projects, namely the Survey in 2003 for all member economies, followed
by the Policy Forum and the Workshop in 2004 with 16 and 11 economies respectively. In line
with these projects, KIMI will host \"the 2005 APEC Informatization Forum for SMEs\" to promote
SME informatization in APEC with the aim of improving cooperation amongst SMEs.
This forum provides a timely opportunity for discussion of the cooperation agenda - SME
informatization promotion strategies and effective training and education policies -, in pursuit
of common prosperity of the APEC members. In particular, the presentation on the promotion
strategies and current trend of SME policy in the EU will be of great help for SMEs of member
economies by allowing the benchmarking of the advanced policies for SME informatization.
The 2005 APEC Informatization Forum for SMEs will serve as a valuable event to exchange
perspectives and opinions among member economies. I would appreciate your active
participation and continued support to ensure the success of our forum.
Thank you.
